He was a surfer dude alcoholic, on only a handful of episodes. Anyways, he was just driving my ferry like a madman (nyc), but it was the most fun ferry ride I’ve been on lol!

2021.10.15 22:03 OneTinyBean [M14] I've never ever had a hairstyle before, need some advice
I've never had my hair done before, other than just cutting it so it doesnt get too long, so i always let it do its thing. But now, after some confidence issues, i've decided to finally try to get my hair sorted out and try some hairstyles. I've been thinking of a man-bun, but my hair is only a few centimeters long right now. So what are some hairstyles that look good that i could try while growing out hair?

2021.10.15 22:03 Tamdrik Scale and Skin feat for Warpriests?
Just curious what everyone else's take is on the Scale and Skin feat on a Warpriest. Just ran across it, and considering how often they'll have Ironskin, Airwalk, Righteous Might, Blessing of FervoHaste, etc. active, it seems like decent value, assuming your campaign spends much time at level 10+. But there's practically no discussion of it, so I was wondering if I was missing something.

2021.10.15 22:03 ExtensionBug Acceleration Issue 06 325I
Just a quick question if anyone could help out before I go to the shop to have it looked at. Back story I've had this car for 2 months knowing there was going to be some work needed and consumables replaced.
-- Issue -- When I accelerate quickly to say 50 km/h and let my foot completely off the gas to coast - the car will start to accelerate and bog down then accelerate again. It happens at low speeds as well in what seems to be 2nd gear, I can be coasting and it will slightly accelerate and then bog down. It's hard to explain and I'm not comfortable trying to record it myself as it is a scary feeling having the car accelerate with no foot on the pedals.
Anyone have any ideas? I've read it could be a number of different things but nothing specific to the issue I'm having.
Honestly any help to target the issue before I go into the dealership would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks in advance

2021.10.15 22:03 angelstar107 A fate forced upon a character - How would you handle this situation?
I find myself in a curious situation as a player at a table. There is a bit of explanation required to get to the question itself, so I ask that you please read this post in full to get the full context.
As part of story arc, our group met up with a mysterious organization of Wereravens that were trying to scare people away from this old manor deep in the forest. The party learned they were there to keep people away as the grounds contained a portal to a dark realm that undead are passing through. We had proven ourselves brave to endure the terrors of the home and find them, so they asked for our help to close the portal. Having faced a group of shades earlier that nearly killed us, we recognized the threat posed by this portal and agreed. We were also tasked with find a member of the organization who had gone through the portal and didn't return. The source of the portal lies beyond it, so we go in find ourselves in a truly dark realm. Turns out, it was Barovia.
Fast forward a bit: we find and rescue the missing Wereraven and learn the portal is one-way. We'll need a new way out. We decide to destroy the source (we found it almost immediately after arriving but didn't destroy it because we had planned on using the portal to escape). Prior to that, the Paladin in our party managed to successfully convince Irena, a shut in with a person sense of vengeance against the lord of Barovia, to come with us and escape. She came with us to destroy the source, but when we arrived, Strahd was waiting for us. After a brief social exchange, Strahd offered to exchange Irena for our safety. For half the party, that couldn't stand so a battle broke out. For context, we were level 3.
In the fight, Strahd managed to down half the party and managed to land a Nat 20 Bite attack against the Rogue. He goes down immediately. Immediately afterward, the remaining party members manage to destroy the source of the portal and we are whisked away in black mist thanks to an NPC we rescued earlier.
The group found themselves floating between the realms. We quickly assess our downed allies and most are alive. However, the Rogue was dead. We then realized Irena wasn't there with us. We had failed in two ways. We didn't save Irena and we lost an ally. The NPC we rescued mentioned they were sorry for our loss but that there might be a way to save the Rogue's soul. In exchange, she'd need a favor. Not just a promise, but a physical "favor" to offer to any who might listen. The party had come into possession of one such favor, a golden coin that maleficent spirits were drawn to. My character (Ranger) quickly took possession of the favor and offered it to the NPC.
We don't know what spirit or entity answered, but the favor was accepted. Our Rogue (a human) was returned to life... as a sort of Vampire (A unique Dhampir that has to feed on blood but isn't undead). One with a painful hunger for Blood. Our Rogue is a pretty chill guy. A paranormal investigator who specializes in helping lingering spirits find closure so they can move on. He recognized almost immediately that his instincts were telling him to consume the food in front of him, but he was holding himself back. We knew a bit about Vampires from some earlier rolls, so my character filled his mess kit cup with his own blood and offered to the Rogue before seeing to the remaining injured in the party.
This leads me to the situation I'd like advice for. We didn't have enough players to run a full session following this, so we got together to discuss things as players. A lot of things were said, there was a LOT of arguing over whose fault is it things ended up as they did, etc etc etc. The whole Strahd encounter really hit hard both OOC and IC. In the end, we decided to have a roleplay session where we take a week of downtime to address things. During this time, we got to understand the depths of what the Rogue and his player were feeling.
The Rogue is the group's "token human". Everyone else is some other kind of race (Hobgoblin, Yuan-Ti Pureblood, Leonin, Kalashtar). He is a genuinely good natured sort of guy, a bit stubborn and persistent but fitting as he is a Paranormal Investigator. He specialized in cold cases, seeking to bring closure to the spirits of the dead and missing. To that end, he could be ruthless, but never malicious. He only hurt others when he was presented with no choice. He would actively avoid combat if he could, either talking his way out or striking a deal to avoid conflict. Well, that man is now a Dhampir who had to consume the blood of the living daily or slowly die. Those of us who attended the session tied different ways to give him a sense of peace but to little avail.
In character, his biggest concerns were that he wasn't given a choice to become a monster like he had become. He couldn't see his mom again, nor carry on his duties as an investigator. He feared losing control and turning on his friends, genuinely terrified that he couldn't view people as people anymore and instead as food. He'd didn't want to inflict that kind of harm on people. Adding to his misery, he had wanted to stay and liberate Barovia from Strahd's tyranny and knowing that Irena hadn't come with him was just another sign of his failure. He felt like it was all for nothing and now this transformation was his punishment.
Out of character, he felt a sense of betrayal. Half of the party chose not to fight Strahd, focusing instead of the source holding the portal open. His sense of trust in the players had been wholly shattered because only one other person tried to help him face Strahd (the Hobgoblin). Us losing Irena was also a huge element to all this because the Paladin who convinced Irena to come with us in the first place had used Suggestion to convince her to willingly give herself to Strahd in exchange for the group's safety and it ultimately came too late since the party had managed to "shatter" something Strahd had on him and now he was going to kill us as punishment.
As part of this Roleplay session, those of us who attended all got a chance to sit down with him one and one to talk. We were trying to convince him that we were going to find a way to turn him back to normal and that he shouldn't just let himself waste away. My question to you is what you would do in this sort of situation. If you sit back and do nothing, they will die. If you force them to drink blood to survive, you're forcing your will on someone else which is largely taboo in any tabletop game. How would you convince them to not give up and to endure things while you tried to find a way to return them to normal?
